Title: Jacobian ideals, trace ideals and cohomology annihilators

Abstract: Let R be a singular hypersurface ring defined by a polynomial f. It is known that the Jacobian ideal of R, generated by the partial derivatives of f, annihilates every Ext^n(M,N) for any M and N and any sufficiently large n. In this talk, we will consider the extreme case where the converse holds: that is when an element kills all sufficiently high Ext modules between any two modules if and only if it belongs to the Jacobian ideal. I will try to make the talk self contained without assuming too much background.
