Dashboard

The Dashboard is where you can view upcoming assessments with accommodations. 

Assessments are defined as quizzes, midterms, tests, and finals.

  1. Dashboard tab on the Ventus navigation bar.
     
  2. Upcoming Assessments with Accommodations
    Upcoming assessments with accommodations provide you with the details of the assessments as your exam date approaches.
     
  3. To make an appointment with a QSAS Advisor click the QSAS Intake Co-ordinator link.  Once you have been assigned a QSAS Advisor click the blue Book Now button to make an appointment.

Profile

NOTE:

  • An accommodation may apply to some or all of your courses.
  • Each accommodation has an Effective Date and Expiry Date.

Profile is where you can view your Personal Details, Documented Disabilities, and approved Accommodations.

  1. Profile tab on the Ventus navigation bar.

  2. Personal Details
    Your Personal details are imported directly from SOLUS. Your preferred email cannot be edited, and your Queen’s email will always be used for communication regarding your accommodations. ​​​​To make changes to your personal details go to SOLUS or email SOLUS@queensu.ca

  3. Disability Details
    Use the Disability details section to view your disability/conditions that require accommodations, and upload supporting documentation that verifies your need for accommodations.

  4. +Add Disability Information
    Use the blue +Add Disability Information button to upload additional information and documentation.

  5. Classroom Accommodations
    Vew approved classroom accommodations.

  6. Assessment Accommodations
    View approved assessment accommodations.

  7. To make an appointment with a QSAS Advisor click the QSAS Intake Co-ordinator link.  Once you have been assigned a QSAS Advisor click the blue Book Now button to make an appointment.

To-do List (NOT CURRENTLY USED)

The To-do List is where you will find reminders from QSAS of items you need to complete. Once you have completed the item you can then mark it as complete.

  1. To-do List tab on the Ventus navigation bar.
     
  2. Use the To-do List to view reminders from QSAS of items you need to complete.
    For example: Upload your medical documentation. 
     
  3. View messages to read the complete message from QSAS.
     
  4. Check the radio button under Status when you have completed the item.

Courses


Courses are where you can view the courses you are currently enrolled in.

  1. Courses tab on the Ventus navigation bar.
  2. Use the Course List to view the courses you are currently enrolled in.
  3. Click on a course to view your approved classroom accommodations.

Assessments

NOTE:

  • Not all assessments in your course will be in Ventus. Only those that require scheduling or administering by the Exams Office will appear.

Assessments are where you can view all the assessments for the courses you are enrolled in.

Assessments refer to any quiz, test, or midterm occurring during the term.

  1. Assessments tab on the Ventus navigation bar.

  2. Unconfirmed Assessments
    (Not visible if you have no unconfirmed assessments)
    Assessments will only appear in this section in exceptional circumstances.

  3. Assessments I'm writing with Accommodations
    All assessment accommodations approved by QSAS will be automatically applied to your assessments.
    You only need to indicate if you will write without any of your accommodations.
    Details regarding your accommodated assessments will be published here as your exam date approaches.

  4. Assessments I'm writing without Accommodations
    Assessments will only appear in this section in exceptional circumstances where accommodations could not automatically be applied.

Letters

NOTE: You are not required to submit your LOA to your instructor as they can view your accommodation needs through Ventus.


Letters are where you can view and print your Letter of Accommodation (LOA). 

  1. Letters tab on the Ventus navigation bar.

  2. Letter of Accommodation
    Select the course to view the letter of accommodation

  3. Support Documentation Issued
    View Letters of Accommodations that have already been issued.

Account Activity

Account Activity is where you can view any changes made to your Ventus account.

This includes:

  • Intake Form completed.
  • Disability Information added.
  • Appointment scheduled with QSAS.
  • Accommodations and additional accommodations.
  • Confirmation of participation in an assessment, etc.
