Students can take courses without being registered in a degree or certificate program, under one of the following categories
- Special Student
- Auditor
Special Student
Students admitted under this category can take up to the equivalent of one full year of courses, subject to enrollment limits and provided they meet the prerequisites specified for the courses. They may transfer the academic credits they have obtained to a degree program or a certificate, but must seek formal admission to such programs.
Admission and Application Requirements
Applicants are required to have a baccalaureate degree (B.A. or equivalent). In special circumstances, and subject to availability of space, students without an undergraduate degree may be admitted. Contact the Admissions Officer for more information.

Auditor
Students who wish to attend a class but not receive academic credit may apply for admission as an auditor. No academic work will be completed or evaluated.
Admission and Application Requirements
There are no academic admission criteria for auditors, but applicants must obtain permission from the instructor of each course before registering for that course.
