Academic, Professional, and Personal Resources

Balancing your academic, professional, and personal needs is an important part of graduate school. Queen’s understands the importance of a balanced life and is continually making strides to help students thrive. The School of Graduate Studies has created the SGS Habitat and Expanding Horizons, described below, to meet your diverse needs.

SGS Habitat

The SGS Habitat is an important part of these efforts. Here you can find information related academic, professional, and personal wellness, including counseling services, writing support, recreation and entertainment opportunities, resources for students with families, managing your supervisory relationships, time management, housing, career development support, resources and guidance related to health and safety.

Expanding Horizons

The SGS has also created Expanding Horizons, a workshop series that is intended to help you achieve your academic and professional goals. These popular workshops run throughout the year in support of your academic, personal, and professional success. Participation in these workshops can gain you a not-for-credit Certificate in Professional Development. Visit the Expanding Horizons website for more details.
