Heat 2 does not disappoint us
12 March 2015
Following on from a great heat 1, our second heat for the 2015 3 Minute Thesis competition, held today in MacIntosh-Corry Hall, was no exception. Nine participants from across disciplines shared their research with us. Research ranged from surface water quality, to sneezing in spring!
Congratulations to all our presenters today on a job well done. Also a big thanks to our judges today - Justin Kerr (QUIC), Carey Bidtnes (KEDCO) and Dr Sam McKegny (English). Results were as follows:
1st Place - Chenman Yin - Engineering & Applied Physics
2nd Place - Changhai Zhu - Biology
3rd Place - Amy Rentz - Civil Engineering
People's Choice - Chenman Yin - Engineering & Applied Physics.
As Chenman Yin was both 1st place and People's Choice, 4th place holder Valeria Li (Geological Sciences) will also go on to the final.
