Indigenous Students

The School of Graduate Studies (SGS) welcomes and encourages inquiries and applications from Indigenous candidates. The university offers a range of support targeted to Indigenous students, including financial support, an admission regulation, and counselling services. Many of our students find a home away from home at Queen's in the form the Four Directions Indigenous Student Centre, where you’ll have the opportunity to meet fellow Indigenous students, participate in cultural programming, and join student organizations. More broadly, the university is committed to fostering an inclusive and reflective campus environment. To this end, a Truth and Reconciliation Commission (TRC) Task Force was called to address the recommendations of the TRC. As a result, many new initiatives on campus have grown up and will continue to develop, joining the various supports and resources already in place. In addition, many Indigenous and non-Indigenous faculty consider Indigenous histories, rights, perspectives, and culture.
