Our primary care physicians and nurse practitioners offer enrolled students gender affirming care including hormone therapy initiation, surgical referrals, community resource navigation, gender specific counseling, and surgical referrals. We also offer hormone therapy based on guidelines from Rainbow Health Ontario (RHO).
Before self-referring to Student Wellness Services (SWS), we recommend students discuss care needs with their primary care provider so they can make a medical referral including health history if they decline to provide this care. Gender affirming care services at SWS can only follow patients while they are enrolled students and will be referred to their primary care provider once medically stable and/or upon graduation.
Students interested in receiving gender affirming care, can either call 613-533-2506 or complete our request for treatment form. Once submitted, students will be contacted by a staff member within 10-14 business days to discuss next steps. Once connected, students will be sent the gender affirming care intake questionnaire through TELUS Health Connect.
