RELS Student's Poster in Stauffer Library

Brynn Harlock, 4th year Religious Studies student, presented the poster resulting from her Undergraduate Student Summer Research Fellowship. The poster, entitled "Beyond Heterosexuality: Examining the Opinions of Catholic Youth towards Sexual and Gender Minorities", was the product of her summer work with Prof. Pamela Dickey Young.

The poster is on display in Stauffer Library until October 30.

International Award Winning Journalist Visits RELS Class

Fred Reed, an international award-winning journalist and a respected specialist on religion and politics in the Middle East, recently spoke with students enrolled in RELS 326 Religion and Politics in Muslim Societies.

Reed offered a firsthand account of his experiences in Iran after the Islamic Revolution and addressed a wide range of questions posed to him by students concerning religion and politics in Muslim societies.

RELS Class Discusses Plight of Aboriginal Women

Students in RELS 227 Religions of Native People discussed the plight of aboriginal women and girls when Kingston and Islands MPP Sophie Kiwala visited their class on November 12th.

Kiwala spoke about the need for a national public inquiry into missing and murdered Canadian aboriginal women and girls.

Instructor Jason Kelly reported that the students were very engaged and motivated by the talk.
