Dr. Jason Kelly has been nominated for the Frank Knox Award for Excellence in Teaching.
This award is the highest honour that the Alma Mater Society can bestow upon professors in the Queen's Community.

The two keynote speakers, Asef Bayat and Abdolkarim Soroush, at the School of Religion's conference on "Islamism and Post-Islamism: Religious and Political Transformations in Muslim Societies" were interviewed in the Kingston Whig Standard - see the story on their website.
The conference itself drew large crowds who came to hear and dialogue with presenters from around North America as well as Turkey, Qatar, France, Germany, Lebanon, Italy and the United Kingdom.

On Tuesday, March 31, 2015, the School of Religion and the Religious Studies Departmental Student Council hosted a dinner for the graduating undergraduate students of Religious Studies.
The celebration of students and their hard work was a great end to another successful year for the department. Students had a chance to mingle with faculty to make long-lasting connections, and they were encouraged to keep in touch once they begin their journey as alumni.

On Thursday, March 19, 2015, the Queen's School of Religion hosted a public forum on missing and murdered Aboriginal women and girls, entitled "Our Stolen Sisters: Listening to Voices from our Community".
Thanks to funds provided by Queen's benefactor, Alfred Bader, the School of Religion will welcome two new Bader Postdoctoral Fellows for a two-year appointment each starting in July, 2015. Christopher Byrne comes to Queen's from McGill University and specializes in Chinese Religions. Sharday Mosurinjohn completed her PhD at Queen's and will work in the area of Contemporary Religious Movements.
The School of Religion's conference, Islamism and Post-Islamism: Religious and Political Transformations in Muslim Societies, held in March 2015 on the Queen's University campus, was recently reviewed extensively in Turkish Review.
Celebrating Creative Projects in Religious Studies

Pamela Dickey Young was invited to give the 40th Annual Luther Lecture at Luther College, University of Regina. The lecture, entitled, "Sex, Religion and Canadian Youth: Identities Under Construction", took place on September 28, 2015.
The School of Religion brought twelve top undergraduate students from universities across Canada to Queen's University October 17-18 for the Engaging Religion in the World Undergraduate Student Conference.
Held at the Donald Gordon Conference Centre, the conference provided undergraduate students with a rare opportunity to present their research and receive feedback from their colleagues.
