Corporal Punishment Bans and Physical Fighting in Adolescents: an Ecological Study of 88 Countries

This new study, published Monday in the British Journal of Medicine, highlights some of Dr. Michaelson’s work on corporal punishment. Through an analysis of data from 88 countries, territories and states, the research team demonstrated that youth around the world are less violent when corporal punishment is legally banned.

Undergraduate student Sabreena Lawal presented her research on Spirituality and Gender during the 2018 USSRF Poster Presentations held at Stauffer Library on October 29^th 2018. She was supervised in her research by Dr. Valerie Michaelson.

The annual American Academy of Religion/Society of Biblical Literature Conference was held in Denver, Colorado this year and was well attended by School of Religion faculty. Their participation covered a variety of activities including:

After a successful first season (2016), students in Prof. Richard Ascough's RELS 214 The New Testament will once again spend the semester playing Survivor – Discipleship Edition. Jesus is with his 12 disciples in a boat, but can give only one of them the keys to the Kingdom.
