Compliance Training

All employees of Queen’s University are asked to complete a number of self-directed, online training modules at the start of their appointments, to support compliance the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), 2005. Training can be accessed at the Education page of the Human Rights and Equity Office website. Currently, the following courses must be completed by all employees:

  • Accessible Customer Service
  • Access Forward
  • Human Rights 101
  • Accessible Instruction for Educators Training (mandatory for all educators)

Employees are also required to complete Health & Safety Awareness Training. An overview and link to the Queen’s onQ training platform are provided at the Risk and Safety Services website. To register for Health & Safety Awareness Training, choose EHS001 EHS - Health and Safety Awareness Training from the onQ catalogue.


In 2021, Queen’s Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Service (SVPRS) lanched an online learning program called It Takes All of Us. The learning program takes approximately 45 minutes to complete and is mandatory for the following individuals:

  • Staff members of USW Local 2010, USW Local 2010, Unit 1, CUPE 229, CUPE 254, CUPE 1302, ONA Local 67, OPSEU, General Staff grades 2-9, QMPG, and Research Grant and Contract staff
  • PSAC unit 1 (Graduate Teaching Assistants, Graduate Research Assistants and Teaching Fellows).
  • PSAC 901 Unit 2 (Postdoctoral Fellows)

The learning program can be accessed through the Sexual Violence and Response Services Website.


The University has developed a new training course, “Anti-Racism: Building a Foundation for Change at Queen's,” offered by the Human Rights and Equity Office and mandatory for all PSAC Local 901, Unit 1 bargaining unit members (Graduate Teaching Assistants, Graduate Teaching Fellows, Graduate Research Assistants).
