The Good Family Visiting Faculty Fellowship

The Good Family Visiting Faculty Research Fellowship was established to encourage research in a wide variety of fields, reinforcing the traditional and anticipated research strengths of Queen’s University by inviting an outstanding scholar, who is currently on sabbatical from their home institution,  to join Queen’s University for a term of up to one year in one of the following areas: Biology, Economics, Environmental Studies, History, Physical Health Education, Political Studies, Psychology or Sociology.

Up to $30K per year will be available to support a research stipend of a visiting scholar. The income could fund a 6 month appointment every year, a one year appointment every 2 years, or an exceptional scholar once every three years.

Prospective fellows must be nominated by existing faculty members in the Faculty of Arts and Science. Queen’s faculty members who wish to nominate a candidate must submit the following information to deanartsci@queensu.ca:

  1. A brief description (<500 words) of the candidates potential research project and why they would be a good fit in this role
  2. The candidate’s CV, including up-to-date contact information.
  3. A budget attachment that includes expenses related to salar(ies), research, travel, and other miscellaneous costs.
  4. Specify when the candidate would like to start and duration of stay

The deadline for submissions is March 31, 2024 for the 2024/25 academic year. If you have any questions, please direct them to the Associate Dean, Research at artsci.vonhlatky@queensu.ca.
