Letters of Permission

As an Arts and Science student you have the option of taking courses through another Canadian university to count towards your degree – this is known as a Letter of Permission (LOP).

There are important eligibility requirements and processes to understand ahead of applying for a Letter of Permission. Please read through this webpage thoroughly and consult the Academic Calendar prior to applying. Should you have questions not answered on this page, please email asc.studentservices@queensu.ca.

If you are interested in taking courses on a Letter of Permission at an international institution, this is known as an International Letter of Permission (ILOP). Please consult guidance from the International Programs Office for information about ILOPs.

There is a $100 fee for the request submission in SOLUS. This fee is non-refundable. The fee is per submission. One external institution can be included per submission. Each submission can accommodate one articulation term.
