About the role

The Buildings & Facilities Team are responsible for the maintenance of our Grade 1 listed, 15th century castle, our student residences, and other buildings on site, as well as managing building projects and ensuring the health and safety of all our students, visitors, and guests. The team is central to ensuring that buildings and facilities are fit for purpose and meet business needs.

We are seeing an individual who will work collaboratively as part of a team, to provide an exceptional level of service to Bader College and Herstmonceux Castle Estate Limited (HCE). Dealing with general maintenance duties as part of the buildings and facilities team. Providing Bader College and HCE with facilities maintenance support and enabling the delivery of an outstanding educational, working, and events environment.

This will include undertaking planned and reactive maintenance repairs under the direction of the Head of Buildings & Facilities and to provide effective support to the Head of Buildings & Facilities undertaking scheduled Pre Planned Maintenance (PPM) activity and reactive maintenance tasks.

The Buildings & Facilities department consists of three members of staff (4 FTE):

  • Head of Buildings & Facilities (1FTE)
  • Buildings & Facilities Assistants (2 FTE)

Qualifications and experience

Relevant role-related training with an understanding and knowledge of regular maintenance tasks including plumbing.

Compensation

The post is full-time, and normal working hours will be 40 hours per week over 5 days.

Salary: £28,000 plus benefits.
