safeTALK (Suicide Alertness for Everyone)

This session prepares participants to recognize people who are having thoughts of suicide by applying the TALK steps (Tell, Ask, Listen, KeepSafe) and connect them to a suicide first-aid intervention caregiver.  Powerful videos illustrate the importance of suicide alertness, while discussion and practice simulate learning.

All participants must attend the full 3 hours to receive their certificate of completion.  Participants will also receive program materials including a workbook.

Join our Peer Health Educator (PHE) volunteers for weekly beginner/intermediate runs if you want to start running, increase your distance, improve your time, and/or simply find some running buddies.

The Campus Observation Room (COR) is our on-site non-medical detox service overseen by Student Wellness Services with the support of trained student volunteers and professional Addiction Support Workers.  It is a voluntary, confidential and a non-judgmental place where students who have had too much to drink can come to sleep.

You can access COR through the south-east entrance of Leonard Hall, near the dining hall (corner of Albert Street and Queen’s Crescent).

Call 613-533-6911 when COR is open for advice on how to help a friend who is intoxicated.

The accommodated exam schedule, for students registered with Queen's Student Accessibility Services (QSAS), will be posted in Ventus on March 15th.  Login to with your Queen's netID and password for details.  If you require final exam accommodations, you must register with QSAS no later than March 10th. 

Accommodated exams are scheduled at the same date and time as the rest of the class unless it conflicts your accommodations. If an accommodated exam must be moved, it will be as close as possible to the originally scheduled exam.

Overwhelm, Stress and Anxiety

This group, led by a mental health therapist, is for students who want to improve their focus and decrease anxiety and stress, without having to spend hours meditating.  Each week students will try different mindfulness exercises (e.g., body scan, mindful eating, and mindful self-compassion).
