Strategic Enrolment Management

Queen’s strategic enrolment management process ensures that annual enrolment planning aligns with the goals of the university. It informs and supports recruitment activities, academic program development, student support services, financial sustainability, Queen's EDII objectives, and campus development. Effective enrolment planning is a critical component of institutional decision-making and requires collaboration across administrative and academic units

The Role of the Provost

The Strategic Enrolment Management Group, chaired by the provost, engages in annual short-term enrolment planning and recommends enrolment targets to the Senate Committee on Academic Development (SCAD), for approval by Senate. Throughout this process, SEMG consults directly with faculties, schools, and student service units to ensure sufficient capacity exists when setting targets, and to ensure that the quality of the student experience remains high.
