2026-27 First-Year Waitlist

Students requesting to join or applying to the waitlist will not be able to:

  • Form or participate in roommate groups
  • Apply to Living Learning Communities or Unique Communities

Confirmation of Submission

You will see a confirmation screen if your application/request to join the waitlist is successful. You will receive a confirmation email.

Residence Deposit

Do not pay the residence deposit now. You will be asked to pay the residence deposit if we make you an offer from the waitlist.

Waitlist Position

Your waitlist position will be visible in the Housing and Ancillary Services Portal once you have applied to the waitlist.

Residence Admissions is not able to answer questions to ask about your waitlist position before this date.

Waitlist Offers

Due to the high volume of applications we have received, we anticipate making a limited number of offers from the waitlist. Additionally, we anticipate the majority of these offers will be made after August 1, and once the self-selection process has concluded.

Accommodations

You may submit an accommodation request once you have applied to the waitlist. Approval of an accommodation does not guarantee a space in residence.

Alternative Accommodation Options

While waiting for a potential offer, we recommend exploring off-campus housing. There is still time, and plenty of options available in Kingston. Please note that a signed lease cannot be broken later if a residence waitlist spot opens.

For resources, guidance, and support, visit the Off-Campus Living Advisor (OCLA) website or utilize the resources below.

Students Unsuccessful in the Lottery

If you applied to residence and paid the deposit on time and were notified via email that you were unsuccessful in the lottery, you do not need to apply to, or request to join, the waitlist. You will be automatically added.
