The self-selection process allows you to choose your room allocation as an upper-year student living in residence for 2024-25. A self-selection window will open for students who were successful in the upper-year residence lottery, where room selection will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.

We will send information the week of February 26th with the self-selection date and time and specific instructions for the process of selecting your room. The Residence Admissions team may have to place students in their rooms manually in certain circumstances.

Self-selection is scheduled to be held the week of March 4th, 2024. All students who were successful in the upper-year lottery will receive a self-selection date and time the week of February 26th, 2024.

The Upper Year community will be in Watts Hall and Graduate Residence. All rooms are Single Plus style.

The self-selection platform will be hosted in the Residence and Dining Portal

You can visit our Building Pages to learn more about each building's features, services and amenities.

Residence is not guaranteed for exchange, transfer, or graduate students. Please email reshouse@queensu.ca to express your interest in living in residence. We will contact you in the event that a space becomes available. You must be taking a full course load in an on-campus program. Please note that residence is a high-density living environment, and that the majority of students are in their first year. We cannot guarantee a particular campus, building, or room style.
