July 5-9th

SCCS Online Writing Boot Camp
July 5-9th via Zoom - Be there or be square!

Get ready for the first-ever SCCS online dissertation boot camp! Join Drs. Tamara de Szegheo Lang and Dan Vena as they lead day-long writing sessions alongside helpful workshops from DFM faculty.
This virtual boot camp is specifically designed to encourage students to write -- that means focused time on putting words on a page, rather than reading, note-taking or outlining. All students welcome! Whether you are working on a MA thesis, a PhD proposal, or a chapter -- come ready to write!

Students will come prepared to each session with notes, outlines, and a coffee/tea already in hand ready so they can better commit time to their research. Writing is hard work, so let's come together and support one another on our journeys.
Morning Writing Session: 9am - 12pm EST
Lunch break: 12 - 1pm EST
Faculty-hosted Workshop: 1-2pm EST
Afternoon Writing Session: 2-3:30pm EST
Physical Activity: starts 3:30pm EST
Note: Faculty workshops may focus on topics like goal setting, procrastination and motivation, working with creative texts, publishing, and mental & physical well-being.
Physical activity will be for all bodies and may include sharing a yoga video and stretching at home, committing to a walk outside, or guided meditation.
