Transitioning from a role with the Canadian Cancer Trials Group at Queen's University in both Finance and Administration, Melissa is excited to join the thriving and socially conscious team at the Department of Film and Media as the Department and Financial Assistant.

Melissa recently completed her third year at St. Lawrence College. In her time there she maintained a place on the Dean's List in addition to being nominated for a Next Best award at SLC for Resiliency in 2020 and the Community Award for the Accounting program in 2021. She led a finalist team for the Mayor's Innovation Challenge, an extension of the Community Project Leaders Program at SLC, proposing and pitching an innovative idea to combat homelessness and affordable housing issues in our community.

Shifting from a background in sales & management in customer focused environments, it is her desire to grow her skill set in this new role. Continuing her education through Queen's University is something she aims to do, following a path that would allow her to be a voice for vulnerable and homeless peoples in Canada. Having experienced youth homelessness, she brings a personal passion to address homelessness, abuse, and at-risk youth, aiming to help impact the affordable housing sector while supporting housing first initiatives across the country.

In addition to being a single mom, Melissa is also an avid writer and is thrilled to have the opportunity to witness the creations that are produced in the Department of Film and Media, delighted to have a chance to be inspired by the dedication of those involved.

Upon returning to Kingston, Stephanie completed the Business Administration Human Resources Fast-Track Diploma program at St. Lawrence College (2016) and is delighted to now be working in an administrative capacity for the Film and Media Department.
