Automatic Future Undergraduate Student Awards

Students who apply to Queen's University will be automatically considered for named grade-based awards, made available through the generosity of Queen’s donors. Should you be considered for a named donor award, your original automatic award may be replaced with a named grade-based award of equal or higher value. 

Eligible future students are also automatically considered for regional and high school specific awards and awards open to all future students.

As a future Queen’s student, you have lots of options for financial aid, including options that require an application.

The following awards have been made available thanks to the generosity of Queen's donors.

Mary and John Barnett Admission Scholarship

Established in October 2014 by Mary (Pinto) Barnett, Artsci'77 and her husband John Barnett and awarded on the basis of academic achievement to students entering first year of a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in the Faculty of Arts and Science. Selection will be made by the Office of the University Registrar, Student Awards as delegated by the Senate Committee on Scholarships and Student Aid.

Rosalind E. Bell Admission Scholarship

Established in December 2015 by Rosalind Vanderhoof (née Bell), B.A. (Hons) 1981, MPA 1983,
and awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering first year of a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in the Faculty of Arts and Science.

John Angus Carther Scholarship

Established in October 2011 by the Estate of John Arthur Carther and awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students from the Counties of Stormont, Dundas or Glengarry, who are entering first year of any first-entry undergraduate degree program in the Faculty of Arts and Science or the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science.

Dr. Su-Wen Chang Entrance Scholarship

Established in April 2007 and revised in November 2016, by Dr. Su-Wen Chang, B.Sc. (Hons.) 1998 and awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering first year of a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree program in the Faculty of Arts and Science. Preference will be given to students who are graduates of Sir John A. Macdonald Collegiate Institute in Agincourt, Ontario. If there are no eligible candidates from Sir John A. Macdonald Collegiate Institute, then the scholarship may be awarded to students who are graduates from any secondary school in the Agincourt and Scarborough District of the Toronto District School Board.

Barbara Crook Endowed Scholarship

Established in October 2015 and revised in May 2018 in honour of Barbara Crook, Artsci'79, and awarded on the basis of academic achievement to students entering first year of a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in the Faculty of Arts and Science.

Barbara Crook Scholarship

Established in October 2015 and revised in May 2018 in honour of Barbara Crook, Artsci'79, and awarded on the basis of academic achievement to students entering first year of a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in the Faculty of Arts and Science.

Dean's Admission Scholarship for Bachelor of Arts

Established in October 2014 by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science and awarded on the basis of academic achievement to students entering first year of a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in the Faculty of Arts and Science.

Dean's Admission Scholarship for Bachelor of Science (Honours)

Established in September 2015 by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Science and awarded on the basis of academic achievement to students entering first year of a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in the Faculty of Arts and Science.

Eleanor Rowley Ingraham Admission Scholarship (B.A.H.)

Established in January 2016 by Eleanor Rowley Ingraham, B.Sc. (Hons) 1944, and awarded on the basis of academic achievement to students entering first year of a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree in the Faculty of Arts and Science.

Eleanor Rowley Ingraham Admission Scholarship (B.S.C.H.)

Established in January 2016 by Eleanor Rowley Ingraham, B.Sc. (Hons) 1944, and awarded on the basis of academic achievement to students entering first year of a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in the Faculty of Arts and Science.

Marie Mottashed Entrance Scholarship

Established by Marie Mottashed, M.A. (Economics) 1941. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence to a female student entering the first year of a Bachelor of Science (Honours) program. Four scholarships are available.

Carl Reinhardt Entrance Scholarship

Three scholarships are awarded to students who have achieved high standing in Grade 12U, or equivalent, Physics and who are pursuing a Physics program in an Honours B.Sc. program in the Faculty of Arts and Science or the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science. The scholarship may be renewed for up to three years provided the recipient continues in a Physics program and maintains a minimum GPA of 3.0 each year.

Donald Malcolm Smith Scholarship

To be awarded annually to the student from the Smiths Falls and District Collegiate Institute who enters the Faculty of Medicine with the highest standing – but if there is no student from the Smith Falls District and Collegiate Institute entering Medicine, the Scholarship will go to the student entering Arts from that school with the highest standing.

Peter R.B. Armstrong Entrepreneur Entrance Scholarship

Established in May 2007 and revised in February 2014 by Peter R.B. Armstrong and awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering the first year of the Bachelor of Commerce program in the Smith School of Business, with preference given to students who demonstrate evidence of entrepreneurial achievements. The award is renewable for one subsequent year provided a minimum GPA of 3.5 is maintained in a full course load.

Commerce 1954 Entrance Scholarship

Established in May 2005 by the Commerce Class of 1954 to mark the occasion of their 50th reunion and to leave a legacy for future generations. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence to a student entering the first year of the Bachelor of Commerce program in the Smith School of Business.

Commerce 1996 Entrance Scholarship

Established in February 2007 by the members of the class of Commerce 1996 in recognition of the 10th anniversary of their graduation. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence and demonstrated community leadership to students entering the first year of the Bachelor of Commerce program in the Smith School of Business at Queen's University.

Commerce Admission Scholarship

Established in March 2007 by School of Business Alumni and awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering the first year of the Bachelor of Commerce program in the Smith School of Business.

Tony Dimnik Scholarship

Established in May 2016 by the National Executive MBA Class of 1999. The Class wishes to honour Professor Tony Dimnik by providing support to students who are embarking on their business education. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering first year of the Bachelor of Commerce program in the Smith School of Business.

Elkhorn Manitoba Award

Established in October 2013 and revised in March 2019 by Ryan Pedlow, BCom 1998. Awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need and academic achievement to students entering the first year of the Bachelor of Commerce program in the Smith School of Business. First preference will be given to students from the province of Manitoba and second preference will be given to students from the province of Saskatchewan. The award is renewable for one subsequent year provided a satisfactory academic average is maintained and financial need remains evident.

Ian and Pat Fraser Family Scholarship

Established in January 2012 by Ian Fraser, BCom 1953, and Pat Fraser, BA(Hons) 1953, in honour of their family's tradition at Queen's, daughters Pamela (Fraser) Valentine, BCom 1979, Margot (Fraser) Withey, BNSc 1986, and Jill Fraser, BCom 1991.  Awarded on the basis of academic excellence and demonstrated leadership to students entering first year of the Bachelor of Commerce Program in the Smith School of Business.  Selection will be made by the Office of the University Registrar, Student Awards as delegated by the Senate Committee on Scholarships and Student Aid.

Jerry Jackson Admission Scholarship

Established in November 2010 by Jerry Jackson, B.Com. 1978, and awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering first year of the Bachelor of Commerce Program in the Smith School of Business.

J. Paul Kinnear Entrance Scholarship

Established in October 2005 to honour J. Paul Kinnear, Commerce 1963. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering the first year Commerce program in the Smith School of Business at Queen's University.

Professor C.E. Law Commerce Entrance Scholarship

Established in February 2006 by John Watson, MBA 1970, and awarded to students entering the first year of an undergraduate degree Commerce program in the Smith School of Business on the basis of demonstrated academic excellence in their final year of high school and high academic proficiency in the required math courses. Preference given to students whose permanent address on admission to Queen's University is from Alberta or British Columbia.

Brian Martin and Matthew Malcolm Scholarship

Established in May 2002 and revised in April 2014 by Brian E. Martin, B.Com. 1999, and Matthew V. Malcolm, B.Com. 1999, in honour of their outstanding professors, and awarded on the basis of academic excellence and demonstrated leadership to a student entering the first year of the Bachelor of Commerce program in the Smith School of Business. Preference will be given to students from the provinces of British Columbia or Alberta.

Thomas and Helen McLaren Commerce Entrance Scholarship

Established in September 2006 by Thomas McLaren, B.Com. 1949, and awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering the first-year Commerce program in the Smith School of Business.

Len Morrow Entrance Scholarship in Commerce

Established in February 2007 by Len Morrow, M.B.A. 1972, and awarded on the basis of academic excellence to female students entering the first-year Bachelor of Commerce program in the Smith School of Business.

Ross W. Nicol Memorial Entrance Scholarship

Established by his family, friends, and classmates in memory of Ross W. Nicol, Commerce '75. Awarded annually to a student entering Queen's University, who has graduated from Ridgemont High School in Ottawa or an Ottawa area high school on the basis of general academic performance.

John Nixon Scholarship

Established in March 2013 by John Nixon, B.Com. 1978, and awarded on the basis of academic excellence, creative and original thinking, proven leadership skills, and involvement in school or community activities to students entering first year of the Bachelor of Commerce program in the Smith School of Business. Preference will be given to US citizens or students living in the US. The award is renewable for three years provided a minimum GPA of 3.5 is maintained in a full-time course load in each subsequent year, and involvement in leadership and extra-curricular activities remains evident. Selection will be made by the Office of the University Registrar, Student Awards, as delegated by the Senate Committee on Scholarships and Student Aid.

Dean Margot Northey Entrance Scholarship

Established by Queen's School of Business in celebration of the opening of Goodes Hall on September 12, 2002 and awarded on the basis of academic merit and leadership activities in school or the community to students entering the first year of the Bachelor of Commerce program in the Smith School of Business.

Perras Shugart Commerce and Athletics Award

The terms for this award are cross listed with automatic admission awards for Student Athletes.

Russell Family Entrance Scholarship

Established in January 2005 by Derek and Tina Russell in recognition of their three children, Derek, B.Com. 2002, Katherine, B.Com. 2004, and Kristina, B.Com. 2008. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence to a student entering the Bachelor of Commerce program, with preference given to a student from the province of Quebec.

Scrymgeour Scholarship in Commerce

Established in September 2018 and revised in January 2019 by David Scrymgeour and awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering the first year of the Bachelor of Commerce program in the Smith School of Business at Queen's University. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate proven leadership skills, entrepreneurial spirit, and involvement in school or community activities, particularly sports. The award is renewable for three subsequent years provided a minimum GPA of 3.5 is maintained in a full course load.

Anne Smith Memorial Entrance Scholarship

Established in April 2008 by Gregory, B.Com. 1991, and Crystal Smith and awarded on the basis of academic excellence to full-time students entering the first year of the Bachelor of Commerce program in the Smith School of Business, who at the time of admission to Queen's University were residents of Alberta, Saskatchewan or Manitoba. The award is renewable for three years provided a minimum GPA of 3.5 is maintained in each subsequent year.

Susan W. Smith Entrance Scholarship

Established by alumni and friends in recognition of Susan W. Smith's tireless efforts on behalf of the School of Business as their Development Liaison Officer from 1996-2003. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering the first-year program in the Smith School of Business at Queen's University.

Dorothy Wilson Symons Scholarship

Established in June 2014 by Judge Ariadne "Ari" Joanne Symons, B.A. 1978, in memory of her mother Dorothy Wilson Symons, B.A. 1947, B.Com. 1947. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering the first year of the Bachelor of Commerce program in the Smith School of Business. Preference will be given to students from the Greater Sudbury Area of Ontario.

Upadhya Family Indigenous Award

Established in September 2016 and revised in October 2018 by Gaurav Upadhya, BCom 1991, and awarded on the basis of academic achievement to Indigenous students entering first year of the Bachelor of Commerce program in the Smith School of Business under the Indigenous Admission Policy.

James Osborne Clothier Memorial Scholarship

Established by his niece, Miss Catherine Boyle, in memory of James Osborne Clothier, B.A. 1900, formerly of Kemptville, Ontario. Awarded annually to a graduate of the North Grenville Secondary School who is entering the first year of a direct-entry undergraduate program at Queen's University on the basis of academic excellence. Preference will first be given to a student entering the Concurrent Education program and then to a student who has completed the equivalent of a senior-level high school French.

Victor Alfred Betts Admission Scholarship

Established in March 2014 by the estate of Victor Alfred Betts, B.Sc. 1946, and awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering first year of any first-entry undergraduate degree program in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science.

John Angus Carther Scholarship

The terms for this award are cross listed with automatic Arts and Science admission awards.

R.H. Clark Applied Science Centennial Scholarship

Established by the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science in honour of Professor Emeritus R.H. Clark, a member of the Department of Chemical Engineering for over thirty-seven years. This award was established to recognize Dr. Clark's outstanding contribution as Centennial Coordinator in the success of the 100th anniversary of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science in 1993. Awarded for high academic standing to a student entering the first year of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science.

Eugene J. A. Gierczak Family Scholarship

Established in July 2011 by Eugene Gierczak, B.Sc. 1974, as a tribute to the inspiration from his parents, Tadeusz and Stephania. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence to Canadian citizens or permanent residents entering first year of the first-entry undergraduate degree program of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science.

Jack Grant Memorial Entrance Scholarship

Established in November 2003 and last revised in May 2017 by a bequest from the estate of Mrs. Georgiana Joan Grant in memory of her husband, Jack Grant.  Awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering first year of any first-entry undergraduate degree program in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science.

Kimco Steel Sales Limited Prize

Awarded for general proficiency to a student entering the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at Queen's from Loyalist Collegiate and Vocational Institute.

W.W. King Scholarship

Awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering first year of the first-entry Applied Science undergraduate degree program. The scholarship is renewable for one subsequent year provided a minimum GPA of 3.5 is maintained.

D.D.C McGeachy Distinguished Alumni Entrance Scholarship

Established in February 2007 by Don McGeachy, B.Sc. 1940, and awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering the first-year undergraduate program in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, who have an overall admission average of at least 90%, which includes the high school prerequisite courses and English.

Ontario Professional Engineers Foundation for Education Scholarships

Established by the Ontario Professional Engineers Foundation for Education and revised in June 2020.  Awarded on the basis of academic excellence, demonstrated leadership ability and participation in extra-curricular activities to students entering first year of a Bachelor of Applied Science degree program in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science that is accredited by the CEAB.

Opportunities Entrance Scholarship

Established in March 2001 and awarded to students entering the first-year program in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science on the basis of academic excellence. Two scholarships are available.

James Russell Papoe Entrance Scholarship

Established in March 2009 by the Estate of Robert Papoe, B.Com. 1978, and awarded to a student entering the first year of the undergraduate program in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science on the basis of academic excellence in the subject of English in the year directly preceding his or her admission to the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science.

Stanley and Jean Pitt Distinguished Alumni Entrance Scholarship

Established in October 2006 from the estates of Jean Pitt, B.A. 1932, and Stanley Pitt, B.Sc. 1930, and awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering the first-year undergraduate program in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science.

Lillian Preston Admission Scholarship

Established in November 2013 by the Estate of Lillian Preston and awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering first year of any first-entry undergraduate degree program in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science. The award is renewable for one subsequent year provided a minimum GPA of 3.5 is maintained in a full course load.

Carl Reinhardt Entrance Scholarship

The terms for this award are cross listed with automatic Arts and Science admission awards.

Science 1946 Memorial Entrance Scholarship in Applied Science

The Science 1946 Memorial Entrance Scholarship is maintained by the Class of Science '46 as a memorial to the members who gave their lives in World War II. Awarded to a student on the basis of academic excellence entering the first-year program in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science.

Robert Shotton Memorial Entrance Scholarship

Established by family and friends in memory of Robert Shotton, Commerce '68. Awarded on the recommendation of the Department of Art on the basis of the portfolio presentation of a student entering the first year of the Bachelor of Fine Art Program.

C.S. Burton Entrance Scholarship

Established in January 1985 by C.S. Burton and last revised in June 2021. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence and involvement in extra-curricular activities to a student entering any first entry undergraduate degree program in the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies who graduated from a secondary school in Frontenac, Leeds, Lennox and Addington, or Prince Edward counties.

Janice Deakin Scholarship in Kinesiology

Established in October 2014 and revised in 2017 by Queen's University in honour of Dr. Janice Deakin. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering the first year of the Bachelor of Science (Honours) program in Kinesiology.

Peggy (House) Leighton Admission Scholarship

Established in September 2015  by David Leighton, B.A.(Hons) '50, LLD '93, in honour of his wife, Peggy (House) Leighton, B.A. '49, BPHE '50. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering first year of a Bachelor of Physical and Health Education (Honours) degree or the Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Kinesiology in the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies.

Dalton R. Mercer Scholarship

Established by Dalton R. Mercer, B.A./B.P.H.E.'56. Awarded to a student entering first year from Sutton District High School. Preference will be given to a student entering the combined program in Arts and Physical and Health Education. If no eligible candidate is available from Sutton District High School, the award may go to a student from either (1) Newmarket District High School or (2) Keswick High School. 

Istvan and Beate Anhalt Entrance Scholarship

Established in July 2004 in honour of Beate and Istvan Anhalt by Jennifer and Rocco Marcello. Istvan Anhalt, LL.D. (honoris causa, Queen's) Mus.D. (honoris causa, McGill), Professor Emeritus of Music, is a distinguished composer and teacher, and was former Head of the Department of Music at Queen's University (1971-81). Awarded on the recommendation of the Dan School of Drama and Music to students entering the first year of the Bachelor of Music program who show promise in either composition or performance. If there are no eligible entering students then the scholarship may be awarded to upper-year students who specialize in composition or performance.

Dan Music Theatre Admission Awards

Established in March 2018 by the Dan School of Drama and Music and awarded on the recommendation of the Dan School of Drama and Music to students entering the first year of the Bachelor of Music Theatre degree program who show promise by means of an exceptional audition.

Dan Bachelor of Music Admission Awards

Established in March 2018 by the Dan School of Drama and Music and awarded on the recommendation of the Dan School of Drama and Music to students entering the first year of a Bachelor of Music degree program who show promise in either composition or performance.

Margaret Farr Scholarship

Established in February 2007 by Margaret Farr and awarded on the basis of academic achievement to an undergraduate student entering full-time studies in the first year of a Bachelor of Music program in the Dan School of Drama and Music, who demonstrates exceptional ability in the area of performance on a string instrument (violin, viola, cello or double bass). If there is no eligible candidate entering first year, then the scholarship may be granted to an upper-year student on the basis of academic achievement, who demonstrates exceptional ability in the area of performance on a string instrument.

Donna Frazer Gobin Scholarship in Music

Established in memory of Donna Frazer Gobin, distinguished teacher of piano and studio instructor of piano at Queen's. Awarded on the recommendation of the Dan School of Drama and Music to a student in the Bachelor of Music program whose major instrument is the piano. Preference will be given to students entering Queen's for the first time.

Helen A. Howard Bassoon Scholarship in the School of Music

Established in March 2009 by Helen A. Howard, B.A. 1948, and awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering the first year of the Bachelor of Music degree program whose principal instrument is bassoon. If there are no eligible entrance candidates, the scholarship will be granted to an upper-year student in the Bachelor of Music degree program with preference to a student whose principal instrument is bassoon.

Craig L. Hoyt Memorial Scholarship

Established in April 2004 by a bequest from the estate of Craig L. Hoyt and awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering or currently registered in the Bachelor of Music program whose applied area of study is voice.

Randall Marsh Memorial Scholarship in Voice

Established in memory of Randall Marsh, distinguished teacher of voice at Queen's. Awarded on the recommendation of the Dan School of Drama and Music to a student in the Bachelor of Music program whose major is voice.

George N. Maybee Memorial Scholarship in Music

Established by friends and admirers of George N. Maybee, D.Litt., F.R.S.C.M., late distinguished teacher, organist and Master of Choristers at St.George's Cathedral, Kingston, Ontario. Two or three scholarships are awarded annually, on the recommendation of the Dan School of Drama and Music, to full-time students in the B.Mus. program whose major applied study is the organ or who show special aptitude in choral conducting, with preference being given to the former in cases of equal or near equal merit. Second-class standing in music courses as well as overall second-class standing is required to qualify for consideration for the award. Entrance candidates will be considered on the basis of promise. Further preference will be given to candidates who have attended a school in Frontenac County. In addition, candidates will receive special consideration if they have practiced, or intend to practice, the profession of music as church organists, choir directors or choristers.

Raymond H. and Phyllis J. Smart Scholarship in Music

The terms for this award are cross listed with automatic upper-year Arts and Science, Music awards.

University Scholarships in Music

Five scholarships awarded on the recommendation of the Dan School of Drama and Music with preference given to students entering the first year of the Bachelor of Music program. First-year recipients are eligible to have their scholarships renewable for a second year provided the recipient achieves a minimum GPA of 3.5 in the first year.

Franklin and Helene Bracken Scholarship in Nursing

Established in May 2001 through a bequest received from Helene Bracken in memory of Dr. Franklin C. Bracken, Meds. 1911, and Helene K. Bracken, and awarded to students entering the first-year program in the School of Nursing on the basis of outstanding academic achievement.

Joan Macdonald McGeachy Entrance Scholarship in the School of Nursing

Established in March 2001 by D.D.C. McGeachy, Science '40 (Mechanical) to honour his wife, Joan Macdonald McGeachy (Bachelor of Nursing, McGill University), (Master of Arts, University of Toronto) for her significant contribution to the profession of Nursing, especially through her years as Executive Director of the College of Nurses of Ontario. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering the first-year program in the School of Nursing in the Faculty of Health Sciences.

John Thorburn Scholarship

Awarded for general proficiency to a student entering the first year of the Nursing program.

Selim Akl Scholarship in Computing

Established in January 2013 and revised in March 2014 by Selim Akl, Director of the School of Computing. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering first year of any first-entry undergraduate degree program in the School of Computing.  Preference will be given to women.

Dr. Michael Levison and Family Scholarship

Established in January 2021 by Ann Levison in memory of Dr. Michael Levison, BA, PhD, a professor in the School of Computing from 1970 to 2019, and department head in 1972-73 and from 1989 to 1997. Awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering first year of any first-entry undergraduate degree program in the School of Computing. Preference will be given to women.

Kirk and Sandra Robinson Scholarship

Established in February 2011 by Kirk Robinson, BSc(Hons) 1989, and awarded on the basis of academic excellence to students entering first year of any first-entry program in the School of Computing in the Faculty of Arts and Science.

Jeff Beck Entrance Athletic Bursary

Established in May 2007 by Jeff Beck, B.Sc.(Eng.) 1980, and awarded on the basis of academic achievement and athletic excellence to first-year students enrolled full-time in any first-entry undergraduate degree program and who are on the competition roster of the Men's or Women's Varsity hockey team. The award will be administered in compliance with all U SPORTS and OUA regulations.

Danny Brannagan Vanier Cup 2009 Award

The terms for this award are cross listed with automatic awards for upper-year student athletes.

Perras Shugart Commerce and Athletics Award

Established in April 2013 by Patti Perras Shugart, B.Com. 1986, and Paul Shugart, B.Sc.(Hons.) 1979, and awarded on the basis of academic achievement and athletic excellence to student-athletes in the first year of the Bachelor of Commerce program in the Smith School of Business and who are on the competition roster of a Gaels interuniversity athletic team. The award is renewable for three subsequent years provided student maintains a minimum GPA of 2.7 and the student remains on the competition roster of a Gaels interuniversity athletic team. The award will be administered in compliance with all U SPORTS and QUA regulations.

Established in March 2007 to recognize academic achievement and athletic excellence to student-athletes entering the first year of a direct-entry undergraduate degree program at Queen's University and who are on the competition roster of a Golden Gaels interuniversity athletic team.

Established in March 2007 to recognize academic achievement and athletic excellence to student-athletes entering the first year of a direct-entry undergraduate degree program at Queen's University and who are on the competition roster of a Golden Gaels interuniversity athletic team. The award is renewable for three subsequent years provided a minimum GPA of 2.7 (B-) is maintained during the fall and winter terms and the student satisfies the athletic performance criteria defined for an elite athlete on a Golden Gaels interuniversity athletic team. The award will be administered in compliance with all U SPORTS and OUA regulations.

Catherine Gertrude (Milliken) Smith Memorial Award

Established in March 2007 and revised in February 2015 by Sherwood H. Smith, Jr. in memory of his mother Catherine Gertrude (Milliken) Smith, B.A. 1924. Awarded on the basis of academic achievement and athletic excellence to student-athletes in any degree program at Queen's University and who are on the competition roster of the Gaels interuniversity women's basketball team. The award will be administered in compliance with all U SPORTS and OUA regulations.
