Schulich Leader Scholarships

Queen's is proud to be a Canadian University partner of the Schulich Leader Scholarship program. This program is open to all graduating high school or CEGEP students across Canada who are seeking to pursue a degree in an eligible STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) related program. 

Schulich Leader Scholarships were created by Canadian business leader and philanthropist Seymour Schulich. The program is funded by The Schulich Foundation and Co-Administered by UJA Federation of Greater Toronto. Queen’s is one of 20 participating universities. The program recognizes students across Canada who are planning to study science, technology, engineering, or math.

The Schulich Leader Scholarships

Effective 20120-21: Total Value: $100,000 (Bachelor of Applied Science) / $80,000 (Bachelor of Science (Honours) or Bachelor of Computing (Honours) or Concurrent Education/Bachelor of Science Honours (BED/BSCH)

Program of Study Bachelor of Science (Honors), Bachelor of Computing (Honours), Bachelor of Applied Science or Concurrent Education/Bachelor of Science Honours (BED/BSCH)
Criteria
  • Financial need (Note: Schulich Leader nominees applying to Queen's must submit a Queen's Admission Bursary to enable Queen's to assess their financial need prior to February 15, 2020)
  • Academic excellence
  • Outstanding community, business or entrepreneurial leadership
High School Grades Variable
Duration Renewable for 3 subsequent years (4 years total) provided the student meets the renewal conditions as per their award offer letter.

Annual Value

$25,000 – Bachelor of Applied Science / $20,000 – Bachelor of Science (Honours) or Bachelor of Computing (Honours) or Concurrent Education/Bachelor of Science Honours (BED/BSCH)
Number Available  2 (1 award to be granted to a student admitted to the Bachelor of Applied Science and 1 award to be granted to a student admitted into a Bachelor of Science (Honours) or Bachelor of Computing (Honours) program or Concurrent Education/Bachelor of Science Honours (BED/BSCH)
Deadline to Apply

High Schools are permitted to nominate 1 (one) Schulich Leader nominee. Nominations must be submitted to the UJA Federation of Greater Toronto by January 29, 2020. Schulich Leader nominees will then have until February 19, 2020 (May be subject to change) to submit their application to UJA. Queen's to review applications: March 1st - June 15th
