Queen's University Senate Seal

The seal of the Senate is the official mark of the academic authority of the Senate stamped on all the official documents it issues. It consists of the arms of the university within a circular inscription declaring that this is the seal of the Senate of Queen's University. The inscription was shortened in 1958 to make the letters as large as possible on the actual engraved seal. The actual inscription - SIGIL SENATUS UNIV REG AP REG - stands for SIGILLUM SENATUS UNIVERSITATIS REGINAE APUD REGIODUNUM (the seal of the Senate of Queen's University at Kingston).

The Senate Seal is reserved for use by the University Senate only. The coat of arms which it bears is a registered trademark of Queen's University.
