Christina Felker, Environmental Science

Introduction

My name is Christina and I'm from Whitby, Ontario. I’m a fourth year Science student, majoring in Environmental Science and minoring in global development. I chose Queen’s for many reasons. First, I had no idea what I wanted to major in. At Queens, I could take first year courses that interested me, and then choose my major after my first year. The decision of picking a university was overwhelming enough, however, this option eased all my stress! Second, all Queen’s students and faculty that I spoke with before my admission were knowledgeable and welcoming. Now that I am a current student, I am grateful that I had the opportunity to connect with these people. Finally, I loved Kingston in general and the atmosphere of the Queen’s community. I am always amazed at the history and beauty of the city while I am walking around campus, downtown and the waterfront. There are SO many on campus activities and clubs to get involved in. One of my favourites is Geneva House - which is Christian campus ministry. This is another thing I love about Queen’s - there is something for everyone!
