Queen’s is celebrating the groundbreaking work of the university’s researchers and to help promote the achievements a series of banners are being placed on prominent buildings around campus as well as on light poles along University Avenue and downtown Kingston.

Geologists from across Canada are going “back to where it began,” as Queen’s University’s Department of Geological Sciences and Geological Engineering hosts the Geological Association of Canada (GAC)/Mineralogical Association of Canada (MAC) Annual Meeting May 14-18.

Not Your Typical History Classes

Steven Maynard’s courses in Canadian history are “not your typical history classes.”

Instead of relying on textbooks or readings regarding the past, with students handing in a paper or writing an exam, Mr. Maynard develops a project based around a particular segment of Canadian history that requires students to research, create and present.

Opportunities for undergraduate research

Each year, the Undergraduate Student Summer Research Fellowship (USSRF) provides students at Queen’s the opportunity to gain some valuable experience that will help them in their continuing studies and into their career.

Senate approves Fall Term Break

Queen’s University will implement a two-day fall term break for students enrolled in the four direct-entry undergraduate programs. The break will take effect in the 2018-19 academic year.
